This event began as a Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) BBQ contest in 1998. It has evolved to included a Blues Music Festival and a Car Show. The BBQ contest draws on average 50 teams from around the midwest to compete in the KCBS sanctioned contest. As a background to the festivities, live Blues music is provided by top notch entertainers from all over the United States. In recent years the Car Show has been added to the event bringing all makes, models, and sizes of cars to be showcased. There have been poker runs and other special activities at past shows. The event starts on Friday evening and runs through Saturday night. Camping is available and encouraged for a complete weekend of BBQ, Blues, and Cars! Bring a camper, bus, or a tent - and enjoy the outdoors, smoke, and good times!
